5 Ways To Find Trending Blog Topics In 2023

Finding trending topics can make your life much easier, and that’s why I shared one highly appreciated method with all my readers on Medium.

Google Trends is the best way to find trending topics that will engage your readers, enhance your writing journey, and help you make money.

2. YouTube

I apologize if you feel disappointed, but believe me, YouTube can be a great way to discover trending blog topics. Don’t worry; I will provide a detailed explanation here.

I understand that many of you use YouTube solely for making money, publishing videos, or collaborating with businesses in your domain, but it’s more than that. With years of experience, I know what works and how you can benefit from it.

Utilize the YouTube search bar to look for specific keywords or topics you are interested in. YouTube’s search results will show you videos that are currently popular and relevant to your search. Pay attention to the view counts, engagement metrics (likes, comments, and shares), and video upload dates to identify recent and trending content.

As you can see from the above image (screenshot) that I have shared and highlighted with the three steps, you need to follow these steps as I guide you here.

Step 1: Write down the topic and niche (general category) for which you want to find trending topics.

Step 2: Click on the filter option located in the top right section and select either “monthly” or “weekly” from the filter, as shown.

Step 3: In the “SORT BY” section of the filter, as shown, select the “View count” filter. Once you apply the filters, the video list will refresh and load the videos accordingly.

After applying all the filters and refreshing the page based on your selected topics, you will find trending videos that are not easily discoverable using common sense.

These are the videos that receive the most views.

Now, you may feel that these videos are from the top YouTube channels, but you will also come across a few viral videos with only 5K to 10K subscribers on their channel. These are the videos you should try to find based on your topics.

Since you are a blogger, not a video creator, you can still benefit from using the trending topic titles of the most popular videos. I’m sure it will help you attract a lot of attention.

First, explore the “Trending” section on your Twitter homepage or the “Explore” tab to discover the most popular topics. Analyze the associated hashtags to understand the main themes.

Review the trending topics and related tweets to grasp the context and different perspectives.

Determine if the trends align with your niche and interests. Engage in discussions by responding to tweets and sharing your thoughts. Follow influencers and experts within your niche to gather insights.

Use the trending topics as inspiration for related content ideas. By leveraging Twitter trends, you can stay informed, identify emerging topics, and generate relevant content ideas.

Follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Twitter account (If you don’t have one, create one for free).
2. Click on the “Explore” tab located on the Twitter homepage after logging in.
3. Next, click on the “Gear Icon” located at the top and select your desired country if you want to find trending topics specific to your country. You can leave it as the default if you wish to see worldwide trends.
4. Navigate to any of the tabs, such as “Trending” or “News,” as shown in the image above. There, you will find trending tweets, news articles, and hashtags.

Now, it’s time to create a compelling headline using the trending topics, hashtags, or viral news articles.

3. Treendly

This website is one of the few that provides free insights about topics in various categories such as SEO, E-Commerce, Blogging, and much more.

Moreover, it helps you overcome the challenges you may face with Google Trends. It can be difficult to subscribe to specific topics on Google Trends, but this free tool (with a paid upgrade option available) provides real data on topics that have recently gained popularity or are expected to gain traction soon.
